It seems that this is the only post on the web that specifically addresses them. And it's been 11 years... The information I have been able to come up with is that the name Mareth was copy write protected in 1947 by the Waltham Machine Works in Waltham, MA for use with scissors and shears for industrial purposes. The pair I have has been well maintained and still cuts like a razor blade. I know it's been 111 years.
